كثير منكم تتذكرون أنني مهووس بالمغنية اللبنانية الأسطورية فيروز. برغم أنها باعت أكثر من ٨٥ ألبوم فيها ألف وخمسمئة أغنية فأنها لا تظهر وجهها إلا في أشدّ الأحوال مثل الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية . نحن الآن نجد أنفسنا في أحد الأحوال هذه   وفيروز معنا بسنتها السابعى والثمانين كي تطمأن عنّا وتسحر قلوبنا بصوتها. يلا اسمعوا فيروز تغني أدعيتها بالفصحى في هذا الفيديو

Many of you remember that I am obsessed with the legendary Lebanese singer Fairuz. Despite the fact that she has sold more than 85 albums with over 1500 songs, she doesn't show her face except in the most intense of situations like the Lebanese Civil War. Now that we find ourselves in one of those situations, Fairuz is with us in her eighty-seventh year to reassure us and enchant our hearts with her voice. Fairuz's voice has an importance and power in the Arab world that I cannot explain. In your future travels you will know it inside taxis, buses, coffeeshops, and stores. One of her most popular songs is "Habaytak Fi Sayf" (I Loved You in the Summer), which she sang in Shami dialect and which you see below:
