Snow Day!
صباح الثلج! والسلام عليكم
أعتذر على عدم الإتصال الأمس. كنت أجالس العفريت وبنت خالته في البيت ولم يسمحوا لي الوقت لأكون معلّم جيد. مثل الكثير منكم ألعب في أدوار متعددة والواجبات المنزلية بالأحيان تتغلب على الواجبات المدرسية. في المستقبل وعدي لكم هو أنّني سأفهم أدواركم المختلفة بشكل أحسن
Morning of snow! And peace be upon you,
I apologize about the lack of contact yesterday. I was babysitting the ifreet (a type of monstrous jinn, and my Arabic nickname for my son Everett) and his cousin in the house and they did not allow me the time to be a good teacher. Like many of you, I play in various roles and the duties of the home sometimes overcome the duties of school. In the future my promise to you is to understand your different roles better.
صحينا هذا الصباح لرؤية الثلج يغطي الأرض أغصان الأشجار وفي كل مكان. لهذا لن نستطيع المشي في الحي كما هو عادتنا ولن يستطيع الأولاد أن يلعبوا في الخارج. علينا أن نجد طرق لنستفيد من وقتنا في الداخل. كيف ستمضي يوم ثلجك؟
We woke up to the sight of snow covering the ground, the tree branches, and everywhere. As a result, we won't be able to walk in the neighborhood as is our habit, nor will the kids be able to play outside. We'll have to find ways to make use of our time inside. How are you going to spend your snow day?
